If there’s one thing that can be said about our team outside of our coding skills, it’s that we have a healthy appreciation of good food that permeates our company culture.
We even have an organic office garden that produces lunch time noms in our Brasov office. Take a peak at our social life channel on slack and you’ll get a number of drool inducing food shots from all different corners of the world. If you haven’t checked out our previous blog post about how we use raffles on this particular slack channel to team build, check it out here. This post is about our recent food photo competition.

When our HR Manager, Roxy Pana came up with a monthly raffle that required team members to post pictures of the best food they ever ate – we didn’t realize what a great display of cultural diversity it would end up being. There’s nothing like food to represent culture and encourage connectedness. We were able to see what makes us unique, but also what we have in common. The effects of globalization mean that most anyone can appreciate a good pizza or a juicy steamed lobster but we also got to see shots of locally specific food from places like Croatia, Brazil, and Shanghai, China.
Besides giving us dishes to add to our ever growing ‘to try’ foodie lists, it gave us special insight into a bit more about our fellow team members. It also highlighted our company culture of inclusion – while our HR Manager is a committed vegan, no judgements were cast when a juicy steak was posted. The world could learn a little bit about tolerance based on how we get along J. There are few pleasures in life as rewarding as a life well-traveled, good food, and good company. We pride ourselves creating a work environment that encourages all of the above – eat, drink, and be merry friends!
